This past Wednesday, I had the pleasure of capturing the vibrant atmosphere hosted by Barry and Cathryn Jackson, the husband-and-wife duo behind Sisters & Sticks. From the moment I arrived shortly after 8:00 PM, the energy was undeniable. Despite it being the middle of the week, the lounge was packed, carrying the high-octane energy usually reserved for a Friday or Saturday night.
A Welcoming Atmosphere
Even though I’m a non-smoker, I still had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was lively, exciting, and welcoming to everyone who came through the doors.
The staff at Fox Cigar Lounge were polite and friendly, creating an environment that made people feel comfortable and relaxed. The lounge itself is known in Scottsdale for its extensive humidor and social atmosphere, and it certainly lived up to that reputation.

Barry and Cathryn Jackson are the heart of this operation. Throughout the night, they were incredibly pleasant and engaged with every guest. A highlight of the evening was watching Cathryn invite guests into the humidor, personally guiding them through the Sisters & Sticks collection to find the perfect cigar for their palate.

As a photographer, my goal is always to document the "feeling" of a space. Whether it was the smoke curling under the lounge lights, people dancing between tables, or the quiet intensity of a conversation over a drink, there was no shortage of moments to capture. It was a masterclass in how a well-run event can turn a local lounge into the place to be.

As I walked around the lounge taking photos and videos, it was clear people were having a great time. The crowd appeared mostly 35 and up, and the energy felt like a sophisticated yet relaxed nightlife experience.
